Greenwich Carers Voices
We are really proud of our singing group which is open to carers of both learning disabled and autistic adults and children. It’s free and we meet once a week 12:15 to 13:30 during term time at Trinity Methodist Church Community Centre in Plumstead.
We are guided by our fantastic choir leader Amy Kearsley who is herself a professional Soprano and loves to lead community choirs. We are ‘all abilities’ which means you just need to enjoy singing!
Our repertoire include hits by Bruno Mars, a Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman, Singing’ in the Rain, Life’s a Happy Song from the Muppets and Don’t Stop Believing’ by Journey. At Christmas we love to sing carols in public for charity. We’ve also performed informally at the Carers Centre Summer Party and for service users at Index Day Opportunities.
Singing combines being with other carers, having a laugh, expressing yourself in a song and de-stressing. You’ll also receive valuable professional musical tuition to make the very best of your voice.
And it’s free! We are generously funded by the Royal Borough of Greenwich to make this completely free of charge for carers.
If you would like to join just come along: Wednesday at 12:15 in term time at Trinity Methodist Church, Burrage Road, 265 Burrage Road, London, SE18 7JW or email us to find out more.
